Such a cute park. There is a parking lot adjacent to the play area. Basketball courts are also here. The park itself is very clean and appears to be very recently renovated. Im not sure why the village decided to completely abandon the idea of having a sand area where kids can play. Nevertheless this park is an excellent place to allow the kids to run around, play before you head into the Main St area for dinner, drinks, hot chocolate or whatever you decide to do. There is a big rocket ship, there is also swings that appear to be handicap accessible which is something that I've never seen before, EVER. Well done Port Jefferson, you definitely got this one right.
Great new park to bring the kids to. Just keep an eye out if you have little ones, older kids love to jump off the slides and rarely look for toddlers beforehand.
is beatiful and safe. my 2 kids have a wonderful time there.
Very kid friendly. Has something for every age from the new walkers to the older kids (10-12yr olds). There's even a picnic area (shaded rest area for parents) to eat and still be able to keep any eye on the little ones.
Park is awesome if you have a high energy toddler like I do. The have a Rocket Ship with 4 slides monkey bars, A Pirate Ship with sails, a slide musical instrument buttons, gear gadgets, A Tree Fort with a tunnel, slide, two swing sets one for small kids with child seats and one with toddler swings and swings for special needs children, a rock that children can practice there climbing skills, a manual round about and a large pavilion with large picnic tables for kids to take breaks. This is a well built park with turf, protective foam under each of the structures and a concrete sidewalk between structures but far enough away to be safe if a child slips and falls.
